Dislocation
Dislocations may occur in your major joints - shoulder, hip, knee, elbow or ankle - or in smaller joints such as a finger, thumb or toe. The injury temporarily deforms and immobilizes your joint and may result in sudden and severe pain. A dislocation requires prompt medical attention to achieve the goal of returning your bones to their proper positions without damaging the joint.
